Wattles

This honour gives you an introduction to that beautiful tree or shrub – the Aussie Wattle.

You’ll learn about phyllodes; what they are and what they do.  Did you know that most mature Aussie wattles do not have real leaves?  Those green things aren’t leaves!

There’s information on how to grow wattles from seed.  Wattles are not only beautiful, but have lots of other uses; food, cabinet timber, medicine and more.

Best of all, you’ll have the opportunity to make up your own collection; either as physical specimens or your own photographs.
